Happy 2016 everyone! I hope you had a fabulous holiday filled with food, friends, and family. You've probably noticed things got a little quiet around here, which wasn't intentional, but I had quite the adventure while I was traveling to see my family (you can read all about it in my Top 10 Recipes of 2015 post from last week.) I've finally made it home, safe and sound, so things should start to pick up again once I get over the cold my little brother gave me (note to my brother, giving me the flu for Christmas is not an acceptable gift, so next time stick with tea, pretty girly things, or a Starbucks gift card please.)
Today for Tuesday Tea I have something to share that I'm really excited about (not that I'm not excited about all the teas I write about, but I really loved this one.) It's another highly caffeinated tea from Zest Tea. You might remember way back in November I wrote about their Pomegranate Mojito Green and loved the caffeinated punch it gave me. These teas wake me up like nobody's business, which is huge since I work nights and as I've mentioned often enough, I am not a morning person. I woke up bright an early (for me) at 8:30am, drank a cup of this tea, and even though I'm still sick and only had 4 hours of sleep, I feel like I could move a mountain. I probably won't, instead I'll channel this extra energy into cleaning the living room (which currently looks like a bomb went off in Santa's shop.)
Housekeeping have never been my strongpoint, so it's a good thing I became a writer instead.
Now lets talk about flavor. In addition to packing a caffeinated punch this tea has a bold flavor full of malt and bergamot—it's a great combination. There is a twinge of astringency and the tea does leave you with a little cottonmouth, so that's something to keep in mind. But, if you're looking for a strong flavored tea to get you going this is it my friends. I can't wait to see how well it works when I'm battling jet lag this summer.
Would I order this again? Absolutely. This tea just may make getting up in the morning bearable.
Where to Purchase
Zest Tea is an award-winning (Best New Product at 2015 World Tea Expo) line of cognitive and energy enhancing teas. All our of our blends have been fortified with a natural tea extract, which boosts caffeine levels to be on par with coffee. The natural amino acids in the tea help moderate the energy boost, for a more prolonged and steady alertness without the crash. Earl Grey has been a popular blend since it was introduced to the British Earl, Charles "Chaz" Grey, in the 1830s. Most Earl Greys are made with low-quality base teas, but not ours. Zests Earl is made with premium Nilgiri Indian black tea blended with a delicious bergamot essential oil. Premium full leaf teas packaged in biodegradable pyramid bags and enhanced with natural caffeine from tea leaves. This high caffeine tea is a perfect alternative to coffee and all of the blends go well as iced tea or hot tea.
