Summer is slowly winding down, but before it's gone for good I want to share a book that I've had the pleasure of cooking from all summer long. Steve Raichlen's Barbecue Sauces, Rubs, and Marinades—Bastes, Butters & Glazes, Too is just what you need if your barbecue has gotten a little too predictable. With over 200 recipes to choose from, you'll never be bored again!
The book contains seven chapters, each dedicated to one of the components necessary for creating more flavorful barbecue, as well as tips on how to put the different components together. I'm not exaggerating when I say there really is something for everyone in this book, it's one of the reasons why I turn to Raichlen's tomes so often for inspiration. I find them especially handy since I loath BBQ sauce.
Does that admission damage my credibility as a food blogger, I wonder?
But seriously, whether you're a beginner or more seasoned grill master, you'll find no shortage of inspiration in this book. The chapters dedicated to rubs, spice mixes, and seasonings alone will keep you busy for a good long time and the recipes can be used to jazz up your weeknight meals when you don't have time to break out the grill.
Now to tempt you further, here is a short list of my favorite recipes. If it doesn't inspire you to pick up a copy of this book, then I don't know what else will.
