I know I recently reviewed an Earl Grey Creme tea, but some days you need something comforting and familiar — today has been one of those days for me. I've had two dentist appointments in the last few days and have another one scheduled for later this week. Hopefully they track down what is making my mouth so sore and fix it soon, because the pain is starting to really bother me. In the meantime I'm on a diet of soft foods and the most comforting tea I can find. As I was rifling around in my tea cupboard I discovered a tin of Earl Grey Creme tea that I recently purchased from Art of Tea. It happens to be Fair Trade certified, which makes it the perfect tea to review today— October is Fair Trade month after all.
Sometimes a tea comes along and it makes me wonder where it's been my entire life— this is one of those teas. It's quite distinctive in the realm of Earl Grey Creme teas. The French vanilla provides a much more substantial body than the more traditional vanilla and reminds me of the thick, creamy custards I enjoyed during my visit to France over the summer. The black base, bergamot, and French vanilla balance perfectly; the contrast between the tart orange bergamot and sweet French vanilla really appeals to my sweet tooth. This was exactly what I needed to end a rough day.
My Rating: 89/100
Would I order this again?Yes. I could drink a lot of this tea, its a great twist on a classic.
