Our Maple Pecan Oolong utilizes our Nilgiri Frost Oolong base. This smooth, silky tea has maple notes that develop into pecan notes then finish with maple notes that linger. Some citrus notes may also be detected. The flavors weave together brilliantly and are well balanced with the oolong base. With a little sugar the maple and pecan intensify for a wonderful desert treat that resembles a pecan pie. We recommend adding sugar slowly; too much sugar and the tea will taste like exactly like fresh maple syrup with a hint of pecan.

During my last two trips out of town I've placed an order with Butiki (they've had some fabulous sales lately) and had a large package of tea waiting for me when I return home. Sadly enough I've had some of these teas for nearly six weeks now and haven't even opened them up. Summer time is one of my busiest seasons, I'm constantly on the go and I don't always manage to carve time out for me to enjoy a nice cup of tea at the end of the day. I decided that this all had to change immediately, good tea like this should not just sit around.
This tea has been at the top of my want to try list for a while now because I'm a huge fan off maple, pecan, and oolong. When I opened the package up I was surprised as just how large the pieces of pecan were. Most of the teas that I've had which include nuts only use small pieces, so this was a welcome sight. My first sip just stopped me cold, this is everything that I could possibly want in a dessert tea. It starts off very sweet, you can taste a genuine maple flavor and the pecans stand out as well. There is even a slight bitter bite to the end of each sip, just like what you would get when eating a pecan. I love that the tea base and other additions don't cover that up, it makes the flavor that much more genuine.
I'm not sure that I could drink this very often, it is much sweeter than I typically enjoy my tea, but this is a great dessert tea. I can absolutely see myself reordering this around Thanksgiving when I do a lot of baking with pecans.
My Rating: 91/100
Would I order this again? Absolutely! I plan on drinking this after my Thanksgiving meal while I'm enjoying a slice of pecan pie. I make a killer pecan pie.
