About Me

I'm a Southern girl living in a Northern city and even after five years I still occasionally suffer from culture shock. I can not believe that everyone doesn't keep a pitcher of tea in their fridge, this is just completely mind boggling to me. The lack of sweet tea, gooey buttercake, toasted ravioli, provel cheese and pork steaks occasionally drives me crazy. These things are all necessary in my life, but especially the last one. Summer is not complete without them and after a long frozen winter I crave these things.

I love food and even more than food, I love to write, so I decided to start a blog. I hope you enjoy my random musings and continue to follow me on my culinary journey. Welcome to Not Starving Yet, kick up your feet and make yourself at home.

Education

While in school I studied computer engineering, information science and technology, English, business, graphic design, and finally photography. My inability to settle on a major and my workaholic tendencies meant I worked two, sometimes three jobs and only pursued my education part time. It took me seven years to graduate with a BFA in Photography from the University of Missouri - St. Louis, but I wouldn’t have changed a moment of it. My non-traditional approach to schooling helped pave the way to my current career as a food blogger. Along the way I’ve met friends I know I’ll have for life and managed to combine all of the interests I discovered in school.

Work With Me

I enjoy working with companies, especially when I feel passionately about their product. I’m open to all inquires, but not every product is a good for my readers. If you’d like to work together, please email me at notstarvingyet [at] gmail [dot] com to request a copy of our media kit. I do my best to answer all messages within 72hrs, but I ask that you be patient if it takes a little longer. I never know what deadline, crisis, or last minute project will pop up.

Where the Magic Happens

It may be small, but it's all mine [and the bank's] Now if only it still looked this clean...
